Migrant Heroes’ Festival at NUS UTown

We’re so excited about this weekend, because on Sunday 24 March, the Migrant Heroes’ Festival is happening at NUS!

We are SAMA SAMA, an arts collective which promotes the inclusion of migrant workers in to mainstream society.

Please join us at NUS UTown this Sunday, 24 March from 6pm-9pm for the launch of Sama Sama 2.0, an art exhibition constructed to feature inspiring stories of migrant workers.

We will have with us the President and General Secretary of the Singapore Bangladeshi Society, the General Secretary of Singapore Kindness Movement, the residents and staff of NUS UTown, and a 100-strong migrant worker community.

The event on Sunday will be an evening of immersive cross-cultural exchange, comprising

– Cultural fair with booths set up by groups of NUS students as well as participants from the migrant community, sharing their respective crafts, games, food
– Performances by 3 migrant bands
– Performances by 2 migrant dance crews
– Poetry recitals by the literary migrant community

We promise you an enjoyable evening where we witness two prevalent communities in Singapore coming together, to enjoy as one – it will depict the diverse and inclusive social fabric of Singapore.
