Don on your best outfits as Maduro puts her own version of Saturday’s Best forward, with Australia-born, Singapore-based baritone saxophonist Tim Stocker leading the charge with a rotating quartet every Saturday in July (6, 13, 20, 27 July). Not the most obvious lead instrument, Stocker brings a rare opportunity for the public to experience the baritone saxophone take contro as he brings the horn out from the depths. Hailing from down under, a transit through London and a six-year tenure in New York City later, Tim now lives in Singapore—a welcome addition to the local jazz community—where he leads his own trio and quartet in original compositions, while indulging in side projects including Singapore’s favourite street band BariRumbles Brass, live jazz outfit The Pocket Watchers and PW MiniBigBand.
Admission each night is $30 per person (inclusive of one house pour spirit/wine).
Maduro is located at 40C Harding Road, Level 3, Singapore 249548 (above ATOUT Restaurant), and open from 2pm to 2am every Saturday.
