This Easter, Restaurant Gaig is celebrating this significant festival with a time-honoured Catalan sweet treat – Torrijas, a customary bread dessert which dates all the way back to the 4th century. Exclusively from 29 March to 4 April 2021 during lunch and dinner, Torrijas is available a la carte at the restaurant at $11.50++ per serving.
Paying homage to a family favourite enjoyed every Easter holiday during Lent and Holy Week, Executive Chef Martí Carlos Martínez stays true to the traditional recipe for his creation.
A house-baked brioche is soaked in a rich mixture of eggs, milk, and vanilla, and pan-fried to perfection in all its flavourful glory. This indulgent dish is freshly prepared upon order and to be enjoyed warm. The custardy toast is served with house-made vanilla ice cream for a delightful contrast.
