The expanded gastronomy series this year brings to life how both the craftsmen at The Balvenie and MICHELIN Guide chefs have stood the test of time, and poured their hearts and passions into creating something extraordinary. This series includes a total of 6 restaurants in Singapore, inclusive of perennial favourites like Braci, Shisen Hanten and Burnt Ends.


About The Balvenie X Shisen Hanten

Executive Sous Chef Ling Heng Yao has created two exclusive limited time dishes inspired by different expressions of The Balvenie’s single malt whisky, to create a whisky-paired culinary experience inspired by craftsmanship and heritage. His first dish, a salt-baked live abalone in Szechwan sauce compliments the light peat smoke notes of The Balvenie 14 Year Old Week of Peat, while his braised fresh dungeness crab meat soup is masterfully paired with the rich dried red fruits flavour profile from The Balvenie DoubleWood 17 Year Old.


These two dishes were inspired by the Five Rare Crafts that The Balvenie maintains in whisky making. They form complementary tasting profiles when paired and share the same artisanal approach as The Balvenie’s handcrafted whiskies. The two dishes at Shisen Hanten have been available from 24 August 2021.
