Flavours of Scotland 5-Course Whisky Dinner

Enjoy and sip the liquid gold that defines good single malt scotch whiskies at the one-night only five-course whisky dinner, hosted by The Pelican – the ‘Best Seafood Restaurant’ by Restaurant Association of Singapore (RAS) Epicurean Star Award 2019. The dinner will feature five flavoursome single malt Scotch whiskies paired with specially curated dishes.

 

Paul Warathep Chandeeraj from International Beverage returns as a Guest Speaker to share his knowledge on the single malt Scotch whiskies showcased, which includes the global favourite Speyburn 10 years old (matured in a combination of American Oak ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, it contains hints of toffee and butterscotch and leaves a long and sweet aftertaste), the Balblair 12 year old (notes of vanilla with sweet honey and fruity goodness), the Speyburn 15 years old (set in American oak and Spanish oak casks to mature, it is bold with notes of toffee, leathery vanilla and orange, as well as a gentle tinge of spice), the Old Pulteney 18 years old (with a whisper of flowery fruitiness and chocolatey goodness, layered with honeyed spices) and the AnCnoc Peatheart (with a strong smoky flavour and hints of sweet stewed apples, chocolate, vanilla and zesty lemon).

 

These will be paired with classic dishes such as Baked Oysters Two Ways, Cured Beef Salad, Old Fashioned Crab Cakes, and Steak & Prawns. The dining experience concludes with Chocolate Fudge Cake, a rich and satisfying treat with dark chocolate cream, toasted hazelnuts and citrus sea salt flakes.
