Celebrate Negroni Week with Smoke & Mirrors

In celebration of Negroni Week, the 10th edition, Smoke & Mirrors will join the global movement by presenting three drinks, namely the Classic Negroni, Negroni Express, and Bananas in a Glass. From 12 to 18 September 2022, the destination rooftop bar will be donating $1 from the proceeds of the three mentioned drinks to Slow Food (Singapore) in support of drinking for a good cause.

Join us at Smoke & Mirrors as the team whips up their versions of the Italian classic for one week only. Have a boozy night with the Bartender’s Special Negroni – Negroni Express (SGD 28++). Created by Mel John Chavez, Assistant Bar Manager of Smoke & Mirrors, Negroni Express is made as a tribute to his home country, The Philippines. A unique blend of Botanist Gin, Campari, Mancino Vermouth, Jasmine Rice Syrup, Ancho Reyes Verde, and Walnut Bitters, this cocktail captures the heat that locals at Bicol love while retaining the smooth aftertaste. Expect a floral and herbal note from the gin, sweetness from the rice syrup and vermouth and a round and pleasant bitterness from the key liqueur, Campari.

It’s bananas time! Bananas in a Glass (SGD 28++) is making a return this year for Negroni Week. First featured in The Real Art of Drinking Volume I and 2020’s Negroni Week, Bananas in a Glass is a Negroni variation by Eduardo Zamora, Bar Supervisor of Smoke & Mirrors. The cocktail is inspired by the iconic Singapore artist Georgette Chen’s oil on canvas, Bananas in a Basket, a collection of National Gallery Singapore. A tropical twist on the classic Negroni, Bananas in a Glass consists of Banana-infused Cognac, Campari, Sweet Vermouth and Salted Banana Liqueur, giving off complex notes of salted caramel with a hint of bitterness. ⁣

If you want to enjoy the bittersweet, beloved classic, order the classic concoction – Classic Negroni (SGD 25++).
