Alliance Française de Singapour presents exhibition, film screenings and dance workshops. This July, Alliance Française de Singapour unveils Dance: A tribute to Rudolf Nureyev, a free exhibition on display from 15th July – 15th September 2021.
Part of Alliance Française’s French Excellence programme, which introduces French culture, expertise and history to Singaporeans of all ages, encouraging intercultural understanding and cultural appreciation, the exhibition pays tribute to Rudolf Nureyev, one of ballet’s best-known stars, and director of the Paris Opera from 1983-89.
On display for the very first time, the exhibition will showcase 14 striking costumes from Nureyev’s signature ballets – Swan Lake, La Bayadère, and more – from the private collection of Charles Jude, Nureyev’s protégé.
Throughout the exhibition, a series of talks, workshops and conferences will further encourage dialogue and help to develop deeper understanding of the evolution of ballet and its role in the cultural landscape of France.
