ARKIPEL, the Jakarta International Documentary and Experimental Film Festival, is back for its seventh edition. The word “ARKIPEL” is a play on from the word “archipelago” and the festival was initiated by Forum Lenteng to observe global phenomena in social, political, economic, and cultural contexts through cinema. This year’s theme has a lot to do with Modernism.
Visitors can expect to see film screenings, exhibitions, a forum festival and panel discussions. The festival currently runs until Monday, Aug 26 at Goethe Haus, Menteng, Central Jakarta; Kultursinema exhibition, film screening, and discussions are held at National Museum (Museum Gajah).
