Lovefest for Stonewall

5 Nights of Riots. 5 Decades of Pride.

June 28, 1969. The Stonewall Riots. This courageous act of defiance from the LGBTQIA community boldly declared “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.” Their impassioned protest ignited the modern gay liberation movement exactly 50 years ago.

Help us carry on the movement in Hong Kong as we celebrate the ‘50th Anniversary of Stonewall’ with a two-part program in partnership with the revolutionary Eaton HK and local LGBTQIA-community groups.

Profits from the event will be donated to sponsor an LGBT Egyptian asylum seeker flee persecution and sexual violence by relocating to safety in Canada.

The program kicks off with a short screening of Stonewall clips to fully understand the context and impact of the riots, followed by a townhall discussion to unwrap hard-hitting topics like white-washing, rainbow capitalism, and the dangers of privilege. Meet, mix, and mingle with other fully-charged community members and finish off with a queer art exhibit exploring ‘Bad Bodies’.

End the night with a party in FULL PRIDE MODE, channel the Stonewall spirits to freely express every shape, size, sex and color of love. There will be songs by a queer musician from London, a performance from the inclusive DragJam group and a special set from DJ Peter Sabine.
