Teabrick

Additional Information

Bubble tea contains boatloads of hidden sugar, and if that horrifies you enough to cut down on your consumption, we’ve got an alternative. Hailed as Singapore’s first kombucha tea bar, Teabrick runs like your usual bubble tea store, offering teas that come with toppings and sugar level adjustments, but its brews are touted to actually be good for you.

If you’re unfamiliar with kombucha, it’s essentially fermented tea chock full of probiotic goodies that boost your gut health. And here, in a tiny, vibrantly-hued space right smack Raffles Place, CBD workers have already been getting in line since the store’s opening for their post-lunch dose of tea drinks.

Slushies ($6.40) also feature on the menu, so you can fill up on cups of purple yam, honey avocado, and matcha milk. For a perk-me-up, drip coffee goes at $2.80, or you can try the brand’s coffee “fermenade” ($4.80). Those who can’t ignore their tea cravings can sip on brews ($3.40) like pu-erh, Earl Grey, and hibiscus, or add milk or the now-trending cheese cream ($3.80) to your chosen drink.

As with any proper bubble tea place, toppings are available as well, though tapioca pearls aren’t anywhere to be found. Instead, they’re replaced by healthier substitutes ($0.80 each) such as red bean rice, kanten jelly, Earl Grey jelly, chia seeds, goji berries, snow fungus, and aloe vera, so it’s all in theme with your less-guilty beverage of choice.
