Welcome to Maduro, a listening lounge and bar devoted to preserving the virtuosity of the classics. Fashioned after owner Mr. P’s storied musical past and present, #TiaraFridayClub is a weekly live music night that pays homage to Tiara Supper Club, the iconic jewel of the Shangri-La in the 80’s where Mr. P performed at the peak of his career. In the spirit of saving the best for last, each evening will see a star-studded line-up of Singapore’s top chanteuses and crooners perform alongside their musician counterparts.
Italian songbird Daniela Ruggieri makes her Maduro debut in September, lending her distinctive use of voice as a complete music instrument, provided with a full three-octaves extension, and a mesmerising stage presence to match. Well loved for her warm and seductive tone, expect classic jazz standards, bossa nova numbers and sophisticated Italian songs with phrasing that’s always authentic and personal, that together with our #MenOfMaduro by her side—Weixiang Tan on the baby grand, Ben Poh on the upright bass and Wen Ming Soh on drums—make up a Friday night you can’t refuse.
