TONO Cevicheria takes the lead in celebrating women in the field with an all-female chef collaboration.
In line with International Women’s Day, TONO Cevicheria’s Head Chef Tamara Chavez, alongside powerhouses Petrina Loh, Chef-owner of Morsels and Ashlee Malligan of Nouri, will showcase their combined culinary mettle with an exclusive menu, for one weekend only. Titled “Women of Taste”, the event will be held on 7th and 8th March at TONO Cevicheria from 12pm to 3pm and 530pm to 10pm.
Besides celebrating the achievements of female chefs in a male-dominated industry, this eclectic collaboration is also one that celebrates diversity. Expect exciting flavours to come through with this specially curated brunch menu, as each chef brings their unique style and interpretations to the table, putting the spotlight on their Mexican, Chinese and Australian heritage respectively.
“To thrive in the food and beverage industry is not easy, much less survive in its competitive environment. However, the fulfillment is simply amazing! I credit many of my achievements to the strong, kickass women in my life, especially my first mentor in the kitchen – my grandmother – who encouraged and motivated me to push boundaries and create. Likewise, I hope this 6-hands collaboration shows how females can succeed in an industry where the odds might be against them and empowers other women to take courage and believe in what they can achieve,” says Tamara Chavez.
