When Cultures Collide at Ichigo Ichie with Chef Akane Eno’s Second Four-Hands Collaboration

Following a successful collaboration with Johanne Siy of Lolla last April, Chef Akane Eno of Ichigo Ichie continues to blaze the trail for a second four-hands menu. This time, Chef Akane pairs with Vasunthara Ramasamy (Vasun), a former contestant of MasterChef Singapore Season 2 and the creator of South Indian private dining concept, Cutlery Optional.

Slated for 10 June 2023, the one-day-only menu is a celebration of the creative talents of these experts. The Akane x Vasun menu serves a 6-course “Japindian” menu that features collaborative dishes from start to end. The cuisines, ingredients and techniques Vasun is renowned for acquaint themselves with Chef Eno’s signature kappo cuisine, and vice versa — transcending cultural boundaries between Japanese and Indian kitchens.

This marks the second four-hands of a long-form series, which extends a means for women to support women in what remains a male-dominated industry. This nurturing and motivating instinct is so intuitive in many women, and this superpower is the reason they continue to step into their highest potential and set an example for budding individuals to continue this momentum.

The kitchen is for the better when both chefs elevate each other, manipulate distinct flavours and push past their creative limits, together.

Akane Eno x Vasun’s 6-course collaborative ‘Japindian’ menu ($328++ per person) is available on 10 June 2023 with two seatings: 6pm – 8pm and 8.30pm – 10.30pm

A curated selection of sakes and wines crafted by female sake brewers and winemakers is available as a five-drink pairing menu for an additional fee of $88++ per person.
