Sunday Luxe Series: A Chinese New Year WellSpent© Experience

The first installation of this year’s Sunday Luxe Series will take place on Sunday, 16 January 2022, spotlighting on food sustainability through upcycling to sustain a circular economy driven by spent ingredients. The signature event by At-Sunrice GlobalChef Academy will introduce guests to WellSpent©, a programme created by the Academy for its Sustainability with No Waste initiatives, through a series of innovative experiences, centered around the joyous Chinese New Year festive season, where guests will be acquainted with the use of spent ingredients to upcycle food. Spent are ingredients that have been once used in the food chain and thereafter discarded and the team of R&D chefs at the Academy have profoundly upcycled these spent ingredients and turn them into novel eatables.

Feasting during the Chinese New Year usually generates a huge amount of food waste, the one-day sustainability-themed event will treat guests to an immersive and educative experience on food upcycling through the following activities with the use of spent ingredients that promote happy gut and are very kind to our earth.
