Express gratitude and appreciation with a healthful spread this Father’s Day. From 6 June to 31 August, Yàn offers a repertoire of Cantonese fare across six-course and eight-course Wellness Menus ($158++ and $108++ per person respectively). Harmonise wellness and health with an array of appetising dishes designed to replenish the body during the hot and humid summer months. Developed with guidance from Zhongjing Traditional Chinese Medicine, the well-balanced dishes highlight the principles of yao shan (药膳) through two set menus.
Yao shan is a culinary approach guided by the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Formulated to provide nourishment and balance the body’s vital energy, yao shan combines gastronomy and nutrition theories by melding herbs and ingredients with beneficial properties, such as mandarin peel, cordyceps flower, hawthorn berry, and many more.
The six-course menu ($158++ per person; minimum 2 persons), presented in individual portions, commences with a platter of Drunken Chicken with Chinese Shao Xing Wine, Roasted Pork Belly and Chilled Jelly Fish with White Sesame. Other highlights include the Wok-fried Spare Rib with Ginseng Sauce, and the refreshing Chilled Snow Lotus Seed with Red Dates for dessert.
Offered in both menus is the sweet and sour Wok-Fried King Prawns in Hawthorn Sauce – large and succulent prawns are coated in a moreish sauce infused with the tangy notes of dried hawthorn berries.
The eight-course menu ($108++ per person; minimum 5 persons) showcases a sumptuous repertoire of Cantonese fare presented in sharing-style dishes. Savour Double-boiled Chicken Soup with Immunity-Boosting Herbs, brewed using a herbal soup mix curated by Zhongjing’s physicians, the nourishing soup combines the wholesome benefits of ingredients such as milkvetch root, siler root, lotus seed, wolfberry, red dates, and candied dates.
