Dilutedcoke (@dilutedcoke) is next in the line-up of home-based bakers to take up residency at Baker X. From 1 to 13 November 2022, the resident baker offers refined bakes with creative flavour combinations in a variety of tarts, sandos, canelés, choux puffs that are sure to satisfy every sweet tooth out there.
A passion for food prompted Jia Jia, founder and baker of Dilutedcoke, to take on a nutrition degree at Singapore Institute of Technology. Actively baking and experimenting with different flavours at home, Jia Jia created the @dilutedcoke account to document her bakes which subsequently amassed a fan following. Turning her baking into a home-based business, Jia Jia applies her knowledge of nutrition and food sciences to her bakes, which are made with reduced sugar, no artificial flavourings, colourings, or additives, while keeping them flavourful and texturally appealing.
Look forward to innovative bakes like the range of delectably buttery tarts such as Pistachio Tart ($9), Matcha Yuzu Salted Caramel Tart ($8.50), Lemon Tea Meringue Tart ($8.50) and Salted Caramel Mixed Nut Tart ($8.50). New creations to look out for are sandos in interesting pairings like Black Sesame & Yuzu Sando ($7), Earl Grey Pecan Sando ($7), Pistachio & Lychee Rose Sando ($7), and Hojicha Macadamia Sando ($7). Each sando highlights a flavoured sponge cake sandwiching a complementary Chantilly cream or ganache montée and a topping.
Not to be missed are the Choux Puffs ($7.50) in variations like Biscoffee, Pistachio, Genmaicha, and Matcha as well as two tiramisu options – Pistachio Tiramisu ($15/small, $21/big) and Biscoffee Tiramisu ($11/small, $16/big). Enjoy exquisite Canelés ($4.50) filled with a variety of well-loved flavours such as Pistachio, Black Sesame, Kinako, Earl Grey, and Lemon Tea.
While all the items above will be featured during Dilutedcoke’s residency at Baker X, the availability will vary between the first (1 to 6 November) and the second (8 to 13 November) week.
