Welcome to Maduro SG, a listening lounge and bar devoted to preserving the virtuosity of the classics. Every now and then, at the whim of Mr. P and his rolodex of globetrotting musician friends, a special night is added to the roster and Maduro’s stage is set to surprise.
Bridging the best of Southeast Asia and Australia’s jazz sounds is pianist, arranger, musical director, performer and composer Don Gomes, as he returns to Maduro in his latest Singapore stopover for the first two Thursdays of the month (3 & 10 October). Get cosy with the skilled piano chops that has coloured audiences around the world and back impressed, boasting an intercontinental performance credit that saw him share the stage with the likes of Johnny Griffin, Herb Ellis, Ronnie Scott, Jeff and John Clayton, Scott Hamilton, Vincent Herring, Don Menza and Bill Berry, Pete King, Bobby Shew, Pete Christleib, Red Holt and Eldee Young, Tommy Whittle, Venetta Fields, Junior Cook, Miles Davis and last but not least, New York City jazz legend Sheila Jordan, who claims Don to be “not far behind the very best in the world”.
Admission on each night is $35 per person (inclusive of one house pour spirit/wine).
