Republic Polytechnic’s Dance Festival Momentum 2019 returns for its 11th edition to celebrate the best dance talents found in schools and institutions of higher learning in Singapore.
This year’s theme “TRANSCENDANCE” looks to explore the beyond, into the sublime, noble, breath-taking and inspiring in celebration of the festival’s 11th year milestone.
Taking place from 13th – 26th May 2019, Momentum 2019 will feature five exciting dance events, including the festival’s Opening Show, 2 dance workshops and 1 Hip Hop Competition culminating to the ticketed Showcase held at TRCC Theatre on 25 & 26 May 2019. Ticket prices are at S$10 per person.
The exciting event line-up includes a total of eight dance forms in one concert, namely – Modern Dance, Ballet, Latin Dance, Hip Hop, Capoeira, Malay Dance, Indian Dance and Silat. Two of these performances will be featured and showcased by RP Seletra (Seni Silat) and RP Capoeira.
The two groups have successfully incorporated dance with martial arts, showcasing the best of both art forms. Also, the performance by Dance Spectrum International will be in collaboration with the Pathlight School Dance Team.
