Open Call for *SCAPE’s Ninth National Youth Film Awards

The National Youth Film Awards (NYFA) is a national award that celebrates youths who have excelled across the various aspects of filmmaking – be it content creation and production, script writing, animation, or screenplay writing. It seeks to instill a greater appreciation of independent films, fuel the passion for filmmaking, and generates opportunities for further development for these emerging talents by connecting them with industry partners and helping them gain greater visibility, be it for festivals or commercial opportunities. In this year’s edition, NYFA has also partnered up with the Singapore International Film Festival, which allows all winners to receive an Industry Pass to the 34th edition of SGIFF, providing them complimentary access to the festival’s screenings and events and giving them invaluable exposure to a wider audience. Winners of the Best Short Film for both the Student and Open Youth categories will also be awarded direct entries into SGIFF’s Official Selection, a pivotal steppingstone to kickstart their career in film.

Eligible participants, aged 35 and below, are invited to submit their short films ranging from live action, animation to documentary forms. Participants who are interested in submitting their works may do so by 22 May 2023.
