In this fourth edition, New Waves will take place over an intimate weekend, with screenings and a panel discussion. It will shine a spotlight on the past, present, and future generations making their mark in the region and beyond. Join the sessions and get a glimpse of these exciting works, in anticipation of the 30th edition of the Singapore International Film Festival in November 2019.

Highlights this year include a retrospective of short films produced by Akanga Film Asia and led by Fran Borgia; a spotlight on award-winning filmmaker Anthony Chen in anticipation of his sophomore feature Wet Season (2019); and Through Her Eyes, a curated line-up of films from the female perspective.
