iPreciation is delighted to present a long-awaited solo exhibition by one of Singapore’s most prominent contemporary artists, Tay Bak Chiang (b. 1973, Malaysia/ Singapore), titled Flavours of Life 《五味雜陳》. Like many, Tay went through particularly rough recent years, and he still managed to find time to create and innovate. Tay’s ink paintings have lively depictions of a mix of distinctive local flavours, serving as a reminder that life’s ups and downs, just like food, should be thoroughly savoured.

We invite you to join us to indulge in the delectable artworks by Bak Chiang and hope that you will find yourself with a flavourful appetite after visiting the gallery.

Born in 1973, Tay is one of Singapore’s most sought-after painters for his contemporary Chinese ink works. The critically acclaimed artist graduated with a Diploma from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts Singapore in 1995 and studied at the China Academy of Art (Hangzhou, China) in 1997. In 2002 he was awarded the Young Artist Award for Visual Arts by the National Arts Council and later won the first prize for UOB Painting of the Year (Traditional Chinese Medium Category) in 2000 and 2003. Tay’s works have made numerous appearances at international art fairs. In addition, his works are in the collection of many prominent public and private institutions.
