Fashion and Textiles Gallery: Fashionable in Asia

What is fashion? Challenging the notion that fashion is the preserve of the modern West, this new display at ACM’s Fashion and Textiles gallery shows you what it was like to be fashionable in Asia from the 18th into the 20th century. With recent acquisitions of historical garments, we take you from King Rama’s court in Thailand, through a woman’s wardrobe in Edo-period Japan, to the batik workshops on the north coast of Java.

*The Fashion and Textiles Gallery is a permanent gallery at the Asian Civilisations Museum. Free admission for Singaporeans and Singapore PRs.
