Organised by Runninghour, Run for Inclusion 2022 makes a grand return for its eighth edition as an in-person event. This year’s event will be held at Singapore Turf Club (STC) — Singapore’s oldest social horse racing club and the Corporate Partner for Run for Inclusion 2022. Gracing this year’s event as the Guest-of-Honour is President Halimah Yacob.
Run for Inclusion is one of the largest inclusive mass running events in Singapore where participants run alongside Persons with Special Needs (PWSNs) who are that are hard of hearing, physically, visually and intellectually challenged and persons with autism or on mental recovery. The annual event aims to promote the integration of PWSNs into mainstream society.
The event features cycle, run and walk categories where participants can choose varied distances according to their preference and ability. The categories include the personalised distance of up to 3km, 3km or 5km run or walk, 10km run and the 20km cycling category (which also comprises a tandem cycling category to cater for PWSNs).
Following the tradition of previous years’ runs, Run for Inclusion 2022 will continue to offer complimentary entries to all PWSNs and their caregivers (limited to one caregiver per PWSN) to encourage more PWSNs to participate in this event. These complimentary entries are made possible in partnership with Central Singapore Community Development Council under the ‘SoleMate’ programme.
Participants can also look forward to an exciting line-up of activities, including a 16-metre inflatable obstacle course designed for children with special needs and a carnival.
