A Ukrainian Affair

A cultural fair to support the Singapore Red Cross Ukrainian Humanitarian Crisis Response

Community group Peace of Art is a project of human effort by individuals who believe that certain humanitarian causes are worth campaigning for. Supported all-round by multiple like-minded parties, Peace of Art strives to bring aid and awareness to those who need it most.

Visitors to the Cultural Fair, to be held at Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel on 29 May, can participate in a Resin Art Workshop and Traditional Ukrainian Motanka Doll Workshop. The fair will also showcase traditional Ukrainian snacks and music. There will be an Interactive Photo Exhibition that gives insights into the devastation of war.

One of the event highlights is a pop-up fashion stall by Bravo Collections, that will sell traditional Ukrainian dresses. The owner of Bravo Collection who had been based in Singapore, returned to Ukraine to salvage her garment factory that was destroyed by a bomb, and to relocate her workers into a new town and factory there. This was so they can continue to work and sew traditional Ukrainian dresses to support themselves and the war effort.
