Born in New York City, currently Hong Kong based by way of Rio de Janeiro, Ani Phoebe draws from a multi-cultural and multi-lingual background in her sets, and is especially influenced by the sounds produced during the 80s and 90s. Leaning towards oddball and cosmic synth sounds, she plays across a range of downtempo 80s records to underground techno coming from social uprisings around the world. She has performed as a DJ around the world, including in Caracol Bar (BR), Good Room (NY), Potato Head (HK) and Atlas Electronic Festival (MR) and for radio stations The Lot Radio (NY), Red Light Radio (NL) and Fauve Radio (HK). Phoebe co-founded minasö, a feminist collective of female DJs and musicians in Rio de Janeiro who train together and exchange resources.
