Ocean Park x Jazz World Live Series 2018-19

The Ocean Park x Jazz World Live Series 2018-19 continues into the new year with the fine and mellow sound of world-class jazz. Acclaimed international jazz singer-songwriter Halie Loren will grace the stage of the Applause Pavilion on 17 January while jazz legend.

Raised in Sitka, Alaska, Loren staged her first public performance at the age of ten and has since been hailed for her ethereal voice, perfect tone and exemplary jazz phrasing, setting her apart from most female jazz vocalists.

Embracing her love for multiculturalism, Loren channels her innate understanding of connectedness across musical boundaries with diverse audiences through her multi-lingual repertoire, covering songs in English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian, Japanese and Korean. To date, Loren has released nine albums, including her latest release From the Wild Sky in April 2018 and four that topped the iTunes Canada jazz albums chart and Billboard Japan’s jazz chart between 2011 and 2014. Her original song “Thirsty” also won the Independent Music Awards’ best jazz song of the year in 2011.

“The 2018 shows were a huge success with great word-of-mouth from jazz aficionados, elevating the Park’s profile as a new hub for enjoying jazz music in Hong Kong. Our collaboration with Jazz World continues in 2019 with an exciting line-up of international award-winning jazz musicians like Halie Loren and Bob James returning to Hong Kong and taking to the stage at Ocean Park,” said Vivian Lee, Executive Director for Sales, Marketing and Public Affairs of Ocean Park.

For a more holistic experience at the Ocean Park x Jazz World Live Series 2018-19, guests can indulge in a jazz-themed dinner, Jazz Menu, specially designed by Ocean Park at Neptune’s Restaurant available on each concert night. The three-course dinner is inspired by local dishes from the birthplace of jazz
