K11 MUSEA: Hot Dog Bus

K11 MUSEA, the new cultural-retail destination in the heart of Hong Kong’s Tsim Sha Tsui harbourfront, has added a key public installation as part of its vast art collection – Hot Dog Bus by Austrian artist Erwin Wurm.

Visitors to K11 MUSEA will encounter the surreal experience of a bright yellow vintage Volkswagen Microbus, modified to a curious, bulbous form, serving real hot dogs at the entrance of the complex. The Bus pays homage to the city’s old buses which were known as “Hot Dogs” as they sported red tops and a mustard yellow livery.

Members of the public can tuck into freshly made hot dogs, created in collaboration with The Butchers Club and grocer Green Common. Options include the Classic Hot Dog (HKD 68), featuring a Westaways sausage topped with The Butchers Club’s secret sauce, crispy maple bacon and cheddar cheese, or a Beyond Hot Dog (HKD 68), a plant-based edition using Beyond meat with vegan mayonnaise and homemade kimchi.
