Queen + Béjart: Ballet for Life

Queen + Béjart: Ballet for Life tells the creation and the success of the unique collaboration between three huge cultural names: the band Queen, Versace and the visionary choreographer Maurice Béjart, the founder of Béjart Ballet Lausanne.

To pay tribute to two legendary performers, Freddie Mercury and dancer Jorge Donn, both of whom died in the early 1990’s, Béjart presented a groundbreaking dance performance: he brought to the stage the ultimate fusion of rock music and the ethereal grace and movement of ballet, peppered with Queen’s sweeping emotional melodies and Mozart’s well-known classics. This film features incredible archive footage of Freddie Mercury, Maurice Béjart, Queen and Gianni Versace, and also exclusive interviews with the great and the good of both rock and ballet, including: Brian May and Roger Taylor, Adam Lambert, Wayne Sleep and Arlene Philips.
