The panel will includes artist, curator, writer and collector to search for queerness in artistic practices, attempting to render an unorthodox imagination of “queer art”. Not only denoting the characteristics of non-heterosexuals and non-cisgenders, queerness also has a connotation of peculiarity, rebelliousness and mobility and many other attributes. More than the gender and sexual identity of an artist, the relation between queerness and contemporary art can be the cultural issue shown in narrative, the aesthetic judgement based on feeling, the physical form made with material. With a focus of several Hong Kong artists, the panel will interact with the audience to further shape, sense and think the possibilities of queerness in local artistic practices over the past decades.
