Khao Chae Chao Wang

Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok invites guests to indulge in one of the most timeless Thai inspired dishes, Khao Chae Chao Wang, available at THB 1,200 net per person during lunch at the waterfront NEXT2 Café from 10 to 16 April 2019.

Khao Chae Chao Wang is a traditional Thai delicacy usually served during the warmest seasons. It was introduced during the reign of King Mongkut (Rama IV) and reserved in the royal residences and affluent properties, as the dish requires long-time preparation, fine ingredients and culinary craftsmanship.

It is traditionally served with the grand elements of Khao Chae (Jasmine Rice soaked in Jasmine-scented water), Luk Krapi (Deep-Fried Shrimp Paste Balls), Hom Daeng Yud Sai (Deep-Fried Shallots and Shredded Pork), Prik Yuak Sod Sai (Egg-Wrapped Steamed Green Chilli stuffed with Minced Pork), Pla Yee Sok Phad Wan (Caramelized Fish Flake), Mhoo Foi (Sweet Shredded Pork) and Chai-Poh Phad Khai (Stir-Fried Sweet Pickled Chinese Turnips with Eggs).

NEXT2 Café offers a fresh touch to Thai cuisine, finely balancing a blend of luscious flavours and premium qualified ingredients to beat the scorching summer heat. Diners can enjoy Khao Chae Chao Wang dishes along with others in the sumptuous international buffet selection.

For more information and to make a reservation, guests may call restaurant reservations or send an e-mail. Diners may also book directly on the hotel’s website here.
