Queen Mab explores the female side of jazz through the character of Mab, a fairy referred to in Shakespeare’s play Romeo and Juliet, where “she is the fairies’ midwife, who helps sleepers ‘give birth’ to their dreams. Filomena Campus compares Mab to the Mediterranean myths of ‘Dea Madre’ (Goddes Mother) and the Janas (Sardinian legendary fairies) linking her Mediterranean roots to contemporary jazz with an electronic twist. Original music by Lodder and Philips, lyrics by Filomena Campus.
