It’s a true family affair when Potato Head welcomes sibling duo Faze Action to the Beach Club bar deck on Friday, 15 March. The critically acclaimed artists will make worlds collide with their singular sound, which is rooted in house and disco with echoes of funk, jazz, classical, Balearic, Latin and African rhythms mixed in.
Hailing from the London suburbs, brothers Simon and Robin Lee started their musical journeys in very different ways. Simon immersed himself in crate-digging and DJing while Robin studied music and composition at Goldsmiths University, allowing them to develop as a pair that can both write original tracks and undoubtedly deliver on the dance floor.
Since dropping their first record “Original Disco Motion” in 1995 (which was sampled by Moodyman), the pair have gone on to release a multitude of influential LPs and EPs—particularly their seminal banger “In The Trees” on the Nuphonic label—as well as compilations and remixes. On their own imprint, FAR, they’ve issued the highly sought-after “Mangwana” featuring Zeke Manyika, “Vamos Pintar” with Nina Miranda and the underground Disco hit “Get Up & Dance” by Andromeda Orchestra.
