Her connection to leather comes from her mother’s hometown of Wonogiri, in Solo, Central Java, which is well known for making Wayang puppets from leather. Riy is fascinated by its beautiful texture, grain, uneven thickness, color shades… and she is a great believer in the importance of repurposing leather and its contribution to sustainable living.
