Rumah Makan Minang

Directly translates to ‘Minang Restaurant’, Rumah Makan Minang is a halal Indonesian restaurant specializing in Minangkabau cuisine – a cuisine by an ethnic group indigenous to the highlands of West Sumatra in Indonesia.

Started in 1954, Rumah Minang is a restaurant that has been passed down for many generations. Tucked in the heart of the Malay heritage district, next to the Sultan Mosque, the restaurant is also part of the Singapore Tourism Board’s heritage trail.

Here you can find an array of dishes full of flavour with every single bite. A first visit will most definitely be overwhelming so here is a few of the crowd’s favourite such as Ayam Belado Hijau (green chili fried chicken), Beef Rendang (slow cooked beef in coconut milk and spices), Tahu Telur (fried tofu with egg and topped with garnishes and soy sauce) and Asam Pedas (fish cooked in a spicy and sour concoction).
