Bakes By Ben (@bakesbyben.tld) is next to take up residency at Baker X. From 13 June to 2 July 2023, young baker Benedict Tein will be offering his collection of rich, chocolatey bakes at the 20-seater café, along with other delectable treats, exclusively available at Baker X.
Bakes By Ben is a small, specialised home-based business born out of Ben’s passion for baking, sharing, and connecting with others. Recognising the opportunity for 17-year-old Ben to develop valuable practical life skills and work towards independent living, Ben’s parents took the leap and started this venture, offering Ben’s signature Walnut Chocolate Brownies. Growing up with autism, Ben contended with sensory challenges in the kitchen, ranging from fear of heat from the stove and oven to an aversion towards loud mixer noises. Yet, with an unwavering passion for baking and consistent time spent in the kitchen developing his expertise, Ben has far surpassed these obstacles and emerged as a confident young baker.
During Bakes By Ben’s residency, anticipate the hallmark Signature Walnut Chocolate Brownies – perfect squares of rich chocolatey goodness, dotted generously with walnuts and topped with a sumptuous layer of quality dark couverture chocolate.
Exclusive at Baker X:
The Chocolate Lotus Biscoff Brownies are a twist on their signature brownies, crowned with a luscious layer of chocolate ganache, generously sprinkled with Lotus Biscoff crumbs and finished with a drizzle of melted couverture chocolate. All brownies are available for individual purchase ($2.80 each) or as a box of nine in the Golden Nine ($25). A gluten-free choice is the Oreo Blueberry Cheesecake ($7.50 each), comprising a widely loved Oreo biscuit crumb base, a silky blueberry cream cheese layer, and completed by a piquant topping of blueberry compote and fresh blueberries.
