Presenting over 40 works donated by 25 member galleries of the Hong Kong Art Gallery Association (HKAGA) and local artists, the HKAGA Fundraiser comes together as a communal effort to support HKAGA member galleries as well as the work of Hong Kong and Hong Kong-based artists.
70% of the sales proceeds will be given back to participating galleries and artists, while 30% will be donated to HKAGA to fund its programme and daily operations as a non-profit organisation. Founded in 2012, HKAGA is a member-based non-profit organisation of over 45 established member galleries in Hong Kong. The mission of HKAGA is to advance the Hong Kong art gallery community by providing one voice to its members, reaching out to the local and international art community, and helping deepen market knowledge and best practices among members.
As a continuation of “Take 1”, the charity group exhibition of Hong Kong young artists organised by Kwai Fung Hin Art Gallery in August 2019, “Take 2” will be presenting works with a primary focus on Hong Kong and Hong Kong-based artists and galleries.
Over 15 donated works will be displayed at Hong Kong Spotlight by Art Basel within Fine Art Asia at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) from 26 November to 30 November; 10 works will be exhibited at the VIP Lounge area during the Christie’s Autumn Auctions Hong Kong 2020 preview at the HKCEC from 27 November to 3 December. All works will be exclusively sold online through the Fundraiser’s Official Online Partner Artsy starting from 2 November.
All works of the Fundraiser will exclusively be sold online through the Fundraiser’s Official Online Partner Artsy, the online marketplace for buying and selling fine art by international artists. The partnership with Artsy, which recently expanded e-commerce to Asia by launching the features “Buy Now” and “Make Offer”, allows visitors to scan a QR code on site and purchase the artwork instantly.
